Poster Printing

Are you looking for Poster Printing? A well-designed poster is eye-catching, attractive, and communicates information effectively and economically.

There are a few basic differences between the poster and other advertising media. The main one being that a poster speaks to the audience “on the move.”  Newspaper ads, magazine ads, and mailing pieces such as brochures, flyers, and pamphlets are designed for the reader who has time to sit and read awhile.  The poster must be able capture a readers attention immediately. It must spark the reader to react.

Purpose - posters have unlimited uses but are normally used for these purposes.

  • Publicize an event
  • Promote a service
  • Sell a product
  • Develop an attitude

Poster Design Theory - Now that we've discussed the function and purposes of a poster, what's the best way to go about designing one?  The basic characteristic of all acceptable poster design is balance.  Your graphics and text must create a symmetry that allow the reader to easily move from one point to another.  Which brings us to our next point, movement.  A good poster will systematically direct the reader from one point to another.  These predetermined points are not an accident.  The flow is created by the artist to influence the reader to  do one of the above tasks.

Graphics and Illustrations

Graphics, photographs, diagrams, etc., are very important components of your poster. They will add interesting visuals to the poster, helping you to get your message across. Make sure that they are clear and of good quality.

Color

Emphasize elements and draw attention to your poster using different colors.  Don't use too many though.  You only need so many to get your point across.

Text and Font

Text size & font type are very important aspects when designing a poster. They will determine whether your audience will be able to read your poster with ease. If not, all your hard work was for nothing. Choose a font type that is easy to read. Text should be printed on a contrasting background (dark text on a light background, or light text on a dark background).

Contact Information

Provide your name and contact details for people that might want to discuss it with you. This is very important but can be done in a smaller font so as to only attract serious inquires.
